Hi all DmDers,

At last I made it home last night from Segovia and another excellent event, big thank you to the Spanish team for doing a wonderful job of organising all the ride outs, social nights and for all the goodies I had to find space for, which was a challenge but managed.
In all I covered 3562 miles (5700 Km) on my trip in wonderful sunshine and some hail, but that all added to the fun.

As this is only my second event it was good to meet up with those I had meet previously at Anstruther last year and to meet new people.

Already looking forward to my third in Belgium next year, at least bum will not be so numb :D .

Thanks also goes to the campsite social committee (you know who you are) for arranging our evening entertainment.:)

Cheers

Stuart

Finished the journey home in a recovery van. Bike broke down between Newbury and Oxford. Riding steady at 70 when a clunk, clunk, chunking sensation was coming from the backend. My first thoughts it was the gearbox but it turned out to be a broken drive shaft.
This is proving to be the most expensive holiday ever.
Within half an hour after leaving the ferry in Bilbao I had to be rescued/recovered and taken to a BMW dealer. The electrics to the fuel pump gave up. 6 hours and €400 / £335 later....

Oh Norman,

again no good news from your RT.....:scared: I hope it will be not too expensive to repair the bike!

I imagine what could have happenend with a blocking rear-wheel riding with more than 100 km/h speed......so it was a little bit of luck within all the problems!

Many greetings to Susan and, like we say in Germany: Kopf hoch!!

Oh Norman

sorry to hear abut your woes, but at least you got home safe. Home the repair bill isn't too huge, and I would be having words with BMW - the bike is not that long out of warranty?

Many thanks for putting on the best DmD I've been to so far, Belgium have a lot to live up to.

I found my way to the Pico's De Europa after you gave me some directions when I stopped, and had a nice time on some superb roads.

Regards

Paul.

Finally home after 21 days and 2388 miles. A big thanks to all the Spannish organisers for a great DmD despite the usual problems with the website.
We particularly enjoyed the the youngsters dancing.
Now looking forward to DmD 2015.
